Sally A. Roberts was born in Bay City, Michigan, where she spent her first
eighteen years absorbing its atmosphere and feeling its pulse.
During twelve of her eighteen years, she attended Catholic schools, where
she experienced the traditions, values, and academics that became a
cornerstone in her life. Her thirst for knowledge and adventure
enticed her to leave Bay City for Dallas, Texas, where she became an
airline hostess for Braniff Airways.
Texas
became her new home. After her marriage and motherhood, she returned
to school and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education at
the University of Texas at Dallas. Before her teaching career, she
worked for the Internal Revenue Service in the Examination and Criminal
Investigation Divisions.
Being a
creative seamstress and an avid reader, she decided to turn her creative
efforts from the sewing machine to the pen. She has had numerous
articles and poems published. Her children's middle-grade historical
novel, "The Legend of Crystal Lake", was published by Eakin
Press, April 2001. Through her writing, she hopes her experiences in
working with people and teaching young children will continue to provide
entertainment and insight to her readers.
She is
a member of The Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators, and Sisters in Crime.
She
currently resides with her husband in Richardson, Texas.
